Possibly related somehow to Proto-Turkic *hat (“horse”), Proto-Turkic *aðgɨr (“stallion”), and/or Proto-Tungusic *abdu (“cattle”). Compare Turkish at, Turkish aygır, Evenki абду (abdu).
