agyon-

  1. (verbal prefix) It has two different but related meanings:
    1. When it is attached to verbs indicating strong physical effects, it means to kill something or someone using physical force.
      üt (to hit)agyonüt (to strike dead)
    2. When it is attached to verbs expressing several kinds of activities, it indicates exaggeration, to do something to excess, beyond measure.
      un (to be bored of)Agyonunta magát. ― He was bored to death.
      dicsér (to praise)agyondicsér (to praise to the skies)
