Like Yiddish בלינצע (blintse) (whence English blintz), from Upper Sorbian blinc, blins, plinc, plins (thin pancake), dissimilated from mlinc, from Proto-Slavic *mlinъ +‎ *-ьcь, a suffix which this word often bears.
