Etymology

From Proto-Germanic *fullaz, whence also Old English full (English full), Old Frisian full (West Frisian fol), Old Saxon ful (Low German vull), Dutch vol, Old High German foll (German voll), Gothic 𐍆𐌿𐌻𐌻𐍃 (fulls). Ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *pl̥h₁nós.
