Galician

Etymology

From Old Galician and Old Galician-Portuguese pequeno, ultimately probably from Vulgar Latin pĭtĭnnus, probably related to a Celtic root (compare Irish beag, from Proto-Celtic *bikkos, "small"). Cognate with Portuguese pequeno and Spanish pequeño.[1]
