This category contains Russian adjectives where the stem of the short forms is reducible; specifically, the short masculine singular has an extra vowel inserted before the final consonant, compared with all other forms. Examples are most adjectives in -кий (-kij) and -ный (-nyj), e.g. лёгкий (ljóxkij, light, easy) with short masculine singular лёгок (ljógok) and де́льный (délʹnyj, efficient, sensible) with short masculine singular де́лен (délen).
