Tagged by someone else, not me. I actually think keep. While some of the pages *might* be suitable for deletion, not all of them! Although Arabic numerals are translingual, aren't they? In the same way languages other than Latin use the Latin alphabet. So maybe clean up a little. Mglovesfun (talk) 17:53, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, the category template is wrong: it treats Arabic numerals as an Arabic-language category for numerals. Or maybe that's what the cat should be for in fact, and things like 9 should be in a differently named category.—msh210 20:07, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I tend to think that would be Category:ar:Numerals as I don't think a numeral is a part of speech. Better to keep and improve than just delete it. Even the person that added {{rfd}} is saying most of the entries should be deleted, ergo not referring to the category directly. Mglovesfun (talk) 13:18, 11 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Kept, the person nominating it had no reason to delete it, and neither do I. Mglovesfun (talk) 18:08, 12 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

This name is misleading. Based on how our categories are named, you would expect this to contain terms in the Arabic language, but it doesn't. It should probably be named something like Category:Hindu-Arabic numerals, or something else than 'numerals'. —CodeCat 11:19, 30 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Absolutely agree. Mglovesfun (talk) 08:43, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, Hindu-Arabic isn't ideal, but it's a whole lot better. --Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 15:37, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
I noticed we also have Category:Roman numerals. These categories have no indication of language, presumably because they are translingual. But I'm not sure if Category:Translingual Hindi-Arabic numerals sounds any better. —CodeCat 15:49, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

If it's translingual, would it include ,,,,,,,,, or ١,٢,٣,٤,٥,٦,٧,٨,٩,٠? Chuck Entz (talk) 13:21, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I support, it’s a more correct name. — Ungoliant (Falai) 16:23, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

@Fay Freak: Why did you archive this and not rename, for which there is consensus? J3133 (talk) 18:47, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

@J3133: Please actually read the discussion. This category now contains Arabic terms, so it follows exactly what the consensus was for. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 22:31, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Metaknowledge: There is still no category for Hindu-Arabic numerals. J3133 (talk) 08:18, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@J3133: There is one: Category:Hindu-Arabic script characters. Granted, its name isn't great, but that's a matter for a new RFM. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 09:21, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Metaknowledge: This category is only for the 10 characters used to write the numerals. J3133 (talk) 09:31, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@J3133: Right, there's also Category:Hindu-Arabic script. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 09:53, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
