From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old High German tolmetsche. Compare Proto-Slavic *tъlmačь (interpreter) (Russian толма́ч (tolmáč), Polish tłumacz), Hungarian tolmács, borrowed from a (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Lua error in Module:parameters at line 370: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "trk" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E. language, from Proto-Turkic *tilmaç (cf. Turkish dilmaç (translator, interpreter)).
