Pronunciation[edit]
Etymology 1[edit]
Uncertain. Possibly from Old Swedish Ingegerd, named after Ingegerd Olofsdotter of Sweden. According to some others however this is a folk etymology, and the term is rather related to the name of the river Inkere.
