Possibly from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Kyrgyz кырк кыз (kırk kız, forty girls), a reference to the Epic of Manas unifying forty small tribes against the Chinese and the Muslim expansion; or possibly from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Kyrgyz кырк ууз (kırk uuz, forty tribes); or possibly from кыргыс (kırgıs, imperishable, inextinguishable, undying).
