Reconstruction:Proto-Celtic/buggos
Appearance
Proto-Celtic
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Possibly from Proto-Indo-European *bʰewgʰ- (“to bend”). If so, cognate with Proto-Germanic *beuganą (“to bend”), Sanskrit भुजति (bhujati, “to bend”). Matasović considers this dubious due to the unexpected gemination.
