Etymology[edit]
Either formed as *pa- (“later”) + *-kъ, in the same manner as *jakъ (“such”), *kakъ (“how”), *takъ (“thus”) from *jь (“this here”), *kъjь (“who, which”), *tъ (“this”), or a back-formation from *opakъ (“reverse, the other way round”) with dropped *o-.
