Shīzǐshān not Shīzishān? Wyang (talk) 09:56, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Wyang: I guess. That's what Guoyu Cidian says. Here are some videos: [1] [2] [3], [4]. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 19:02, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't really make sense.. having 獅子 + most of its compounds, and other compounds of 獅子 differently pronounced. I feel this may be an oversight of Guoyu Cidian, a case similar to Talk:豆腐. All the videos sound like they use 子 with a reduced tone, especially when played at 0.5x speed. Anyway, we can stick to the current format (before Guoyu Cidian hopefully fixes this). I don't trust my ears to hear the difference between a neutral tone and a reduced tone in this situation. If I come across any materials that explicitly say that the Shizishan subdistrict in Hongshan, Wuhan, Hubei is written in Standard Mandarin pinyin as 'Shīzishān', then I will add the neutral tone pronunciation. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 06:46, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
