I can't see how it's not an alteration of Chinese. The existence of the word chink may have had an influence on the form of the alteration, but I don't see why it would be from "narrow opening". (And even then, it was influenced by Chinese.)--Prosfilaes (talk) 20:56, 17 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
