Moved from an older RFD discussion (June 2011) per vague consensus. Note it's also a trademark so should potentially have to meet WT:BRAND. Here is an abbreviated summary of some RFD comments (but please see the whole conversation rather than rely on this): "Creature from fictional universe. Like having an entry for Xann, protagonist of 1980s video game Terminus, or Dumbledore, wizard from Harry Potter." (Equinox); "We do have Charizard and Pikachu cited, though."
