Dubious entry

[edit]

This entry, which presently consists of

Proper noun

Schabusiness

  1. A surname from ?

seems to be more of a question than a definition. It might have been better posted at quora.com.

To answer the question: Schabusiness is not an established surname, not anywhere. It is a sui generis surname adopted by one young person, Taylor Schabusiness. Schabusiness is or was married to one Warren Schabow, and perhaps she changed her surname from Coronado to Schabusiness as a "hip and with it" pun on her spouse's (possibly ex's) name, possibly also with reference to the phrase "she's the business". Subsequent to her name change, Schabusiness committed and was convicted of a gruesome murder. Apparently Schabusiness is the only person of that name, and unless some attention-seeker also adopts her name for notoriety, she will remain the only person thus called. Remarkably Schabusiness is not just a murderess but also a young mother, though she does not have custody, reportedly her grandparents do; she is serving a life sentence. I would be really surprised if her child (still) shared her surname. I strongly suspect she is the only one. I'm not sure if this partly speculative information can be put in a way that is suitable for a dictionary entry. ReadOnlyAccount (talk) 07:59, 19 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

PS: I've now found one source that refers to Warren as Warren Schabusiness, though that's not how he was referred to at trial. I'm not sure if he changed his name to match hers or if both changed surnames together, or if he is still called Schabusiness or back to Schabow. For a technically correct answer to the above question, Schabusiness is a surname from Wisconsin, USA, though I don't actually know if that's where Taylor or Warren or both are serving their respective sentences, his being a drug conviction.

PPS: According to the eponymous article, Taylor Schabusiness is an inmate at Taycheedah Correctional Institution, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.

Surname that seems attestable only from one person currently famous for a crime...? Equinox 19:08, 27 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Apparently the killer Taylor’s maiden name (and unchanged married name?) was ‘Coronado’ and her husband Warren’s was Schabow[1] before they both changed their surname to ‘Schabusiness’ (presumably from ‘Schabow+(meth) business’). I very much doubt there are other people with this absurd surname based on that. Overlordnat1 (talk) 23:43, 28 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
