This word is labelled as an alternative spelling of fœtal. Etymologically, it would be correct: fœtus, from which fœtal is derived, is originally a hypercorrection (which already arises in Latin) for fetus. But in modern French, fœtal and fœtus are the only accepted spellings (they have even influenced the pronunciation itself), and fétal/fétus don't exist. --Fsojic (talk) 19:00, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
- This is a WT:RFV matter rather than a WT:RFD matter, isn't it? As in, the question is whether or not fétal and fétus are attested (perhaps as reverse-corrections), and if they are, they will surely be kept. - -sche (discuss) 19:11, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
