To lead forth. In Google Books I find various scannos, e.g. "notwithstanding all this forth-leading" (hyphenated), "will no doubt be forthled to a great increase in sugar-beet" (actually a multi-column error; the word was "forthcoming"), "forthleading cause of death" (fourth leading). cited It is true that most of the hits are scannos, but not all. The first one that you quote as hyphenated is a modernization of Julian of Norwich, and the same quote can be found unhyphenated here.
