One would think that this would sometimes refer to fear of gender (which might result in non-conforming behavior), but the citations do all seem to be referring to a form of discrimination. - -sche (discuss) 01:35, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Usually -phobia only denotes fear, but in homophobia and transphobia it seems to have undergone semantic extension to mean "hate" as well, and I assume that those terms influenced this one. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 02:40, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
