gewyrtbox[edit]

Is it from "ġe- +‎ wyrt + box" or "ġewyrt + box"? This site here says it is ġewyrt-box, but I can't find ġewyrt anywhere. I've also taken out this Declension Table,

and I've put in this one,

This can be a mistake, but I am not sure which one it is. I'm using this site here Anglish4699 (talk) 03:59, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I would go with gewyrt +‎ box. ...What was wrong with the original declension. Appears just fine, to me...Leasnam (talk) 04:02, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The site mentioned does not have the Nominative Singular. That is why I was iffy about it. I'll place it back in Anglish4699 (talk) 04:08, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see. That's okay. If a word is only attested in one or two case instances, we can still extrapolate what the other case forms would be like. ...I am, however, finding it difficult to locate gewyrt as a word though. Is it attested at all ? Leasnam (talk) 04:11, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I found it. I believe it's a glossed term. Derived from gewyrtian (to season, spice, perfume). Since gewyrt is itself not attested, only attested as part of this compound, I would show the etymology like this: *gewyrt +‎ box, and make reference to the verb gewyrtian Leasnam (talk) 04:17, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'll get on it Anglish4699 (talk) 04:27, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
