I found attestation for this as an alternative form of great tit#Noun. The only good effects of having the hyphenated form of the many (but not most) vernacular names that have them are:
  1. Users go to an entry rather than to a failed-search page.
  2. Wiktionary is a little more "complete".
  3. We could enter some frequency and usage context information, were we able to find enough evidence for the latter, given the rarity.
Forms like Great Tit and Great tit are much more common. The search engine takes one directly to great tit if one of these forms is searched for. DCDuring TALK 22:16, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
