- I guess I don't know for sure, but I'd always assumed it was from "look 'ee". (I guess we don't have an entry for 'ee, but see here and here and here for examples of its use as some sort of unstressed second-person pronoun.) —RuakhTALK 22:15, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
