Per man v horse marathon above. (Was mentioned there, but not tagged.) Equinox 18:05, 25 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Weird. It's not an actual marathon. That could count in its favour. Zumbacool (talk) 01:22, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
While marathons are typically of a particular distance (26.2mi), there are plenty of "marathons" which are of slightly different distances. Funnily (or maybe intentionally) 22 miles is closer to the distance between Marathon and Athens. - TheDaveRoss 12:32, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

The issue is not that it is SOP, but that this is the (incorrectly capitalized) name of a specific entity, in this case an annual event, like the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival or the World Figure Skating Championships, for which we also do not have (and should not have) dictionary entries.  --Lambiam 06:11, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
This was not evident from the definition, which suggests that it is a generic type of race. However, if it is in fact just the name of a single, specific event, then that’s another reason for deleting it. — Sgconlaw (talk) 06:36, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Delete. It does appear to be a specific named event and not a generic type of event. Equinox 06:46, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
