"Biblical designation for Jesus Christ. Author and perfector of our faith." I don't think this is a separate sense: it's just sense 1, one who perfects something. The logic that allows this to be a separate sense would also allow "author" to be one! Equinox 20:10, 31 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
