The term seems to be strongly associated with Stephen Barrett. Of interest: Talk:Stephen Barrett/Archive 1#Barretts' views, plus the history of the term "Quackbusters". There is also an animated cartoon with the title Daffy Duck’s Quackbusters, which is more like Ghostbusters and has nothing to do with medical quacks. A use (although between quotes) that is unrelated to Barrett is here. Another one, additionally featuring the present participle quackbusting, is here.
