Sanskrit

[edit]

Your constributions to Appendix:Indo-Iranian Swadesh lists are highly appreciated. If you decide do stay, you should take a look at Wiktionary:About Sanskrit (which needs to be thoroughly updated!), and some of the already present entries at Category:Sanskrit language. All the usual lemmatization rules apply, with the exception of dhātus, where verbs should be lemmatized in 3rd-person singular present active indicative, i.e. where you put स्था it should be तिष्ठति. Verbal stems almost never appear in written speech, so they shouldn't appear in the main namespace, unless there used as substantives. You are free to add them into Appendix:Dhatupatha though ^_^. --Ivan Štambuk 18:22, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I started the real 207-word Swadesh list for Sanskrit here, you might wanna check it out ^_^. Also, please note the format used: using template {{l}} with sc=Deva, and mandatory transliterations (preferably with accents ^_^). Cheers. --Ivan Štambuk 19:44, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
