[edit]@Benwing Yes, just removing parameters equal to the pagename. Ultimateria (talk) 02:26, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Ultimateria I did this; there were only 223 replacements. Benwing2 (talk) 06:19, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
es-noun
[edit]Remove plurals that are pagename + s or es (if page ends in l, r, or d). When pagename is -´Vn, remove plurals in -Vnes, e.g. vacación -> vacaciones, espadachín -> espadachines. Also -Vz -> -Vces. Remove plural=pagename when pagename ends in -sis. I'm sure module:es-headword explains these rules better than I can, but that'll probably cover most of the cases. "Remove {{l}} when not linking to a different language"
[edit]- This should definitely NOT be done. At most, remove
{{l}}
when linking to English. —Mahāgaja · talk 09:00, 15 September 2020 (UTC)- @Mahagaja: You would keep the formatting at e.g. océano Atlántico? Is it an issue of text wrapping? Ultimateria (talk) 16:01, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
- It's in the context of the
|head=
parameter; your response makes me unsure if you saw that. Ultimateria (talk) 18:06, 15 September 2020 (UTC)- You're right, I didn't realize that it was in the context of the
|head=
parameter. Within headword templates, I don't think we should be linking to other languages at all, with{{l}}
or otherwise. I'd say in an entry like déjà vu#English, since neither déjà nor vu is an English word on its own, there should simply be no links in the headword line at all. —Mahāgaja · talk 18:14, 15 September 2020 (UTC)- @Mahagaja: I agree, that should be handled by the etymology. Once the intra-language links are cleared out of headword lines, I'll work on those. Ultimateria (talk) 19:42, 15 September 2020 (UTC)

it-noun
[edit]Remove plurals in -o -> -i (diff) except nouns ending in -co or -go. Nouns in -io default to -i. Remove plurals in -e -> -i. Remove plurals in -a -> -e (diff) except nouns ending in -ca, -ga, -cia, or -gia. The latter two are mentioned in module:it-headword, so I don't know why {{it-noun}}
doesn't handle them automatically. Ultimateria (talk) 18:03, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
