adessive case (plural adessive cases)

  1. (grammar) A noun case used to indicate adjacent location. In English, this is usually expressed by the prepositions "near", "at", or "by". Languages that use the adessive case include Finnish, Hungarian, Estonian, Lezgi and Lithuanian.
