backlinker (plural backlinkers)

  1. (computing) A program or process that maintains backlinks (references to objects on another server).
    • 2001, Mark Foust, NetWare Administration: NetWare 4.0-6.0, page 353:
      If this process gets held up (which it sometimes does for a number of reasons) the backlinker process will automatically resolve the problem when it runs (within 13 hours).
