  1. (archaic) A gall produced on rosebushes, especially on the sweetbrier or eglantine, by a puncture from the ovipositor of a gallfly (Lua error in Module:taxlink at line 68: Parameter "noshow" is not used by this template.), and once supposed to have medicinal properties.
