Etymology[edit]

The word and concept are derived from The Borg, a race of cyborgs in the fictional Star Trek universe with a hive mind that operates as one.

borganism (plural borganisms)

  1. (rare) An organization of autonomous organisms that exhibit collectivism: individual "units" that have merged to yield a unified construct and may have a collective consciousness.
