Aromanian[edit]
Etymology[edit]
car + -utsã or from Latin carruca, possibly from the plural of an original proto-Romanian form (altered by influence from the diminutive suffix), or alternatively through a Vulgar Latin root *carrucia, *carrucea. Compare Romanian căruță. Cf. also Italian carrozza, French charrue. Doublet of carotsã, which was taken from Italian.
