Etymology[edit]

From Late Latin conredum, from cum (with) +‎ redum (preparation, arrangement), which is of Germanic origin; see also Dutch reden, Gothic *𐍂𐌴𐌳𐌰𐌽 (*rēdan), 𐍂𐌰𐌹𐌳𐌾𐌰𐌽 (raidjan). Alternatively back-formation of corredare, compare arredare (to equip).[1]
