Ancient Greek δίς (dís, twice) + τόκος (tókos, a bringing forth, offspring).

  1. (zoology) Having two kinds of young.
    Certain annelids are ditokous.
  2. (zoology) Producing only two eggs in a clutch.
    Some birds are ditokous.
