  1. (transitive, agriculture) to thresh (to complete separating the grain from the straw or husks (chaff) by mechanical beating, with a flail or machinery)
  2. (transitive, colloquial) to thresh, drub (to beat soundly, with hands or with some tool such as a stick or whip)
    Synonyms: eltángál, elagyabugyál, elpáhol, elver
  3. (transitive) to make hackneyed/overworked/tedious (to repeat something to excess until it becomes dull and uninteresting)
