From Arabic فُلُوس (fulūs), from Aramaic פילס / ܦܠܣ / פולסא / ܦܘܠܣܐ (/⁠fuləsā, filas⁠/), from Ancient Greek φόλλις (phóllis), from Latin follis. Doublet of fou.
