   • 1861 December 8, contribution to the general deliberations by Pieter Blussé van Alblas, Verslag van de Handelingen der Staten-Generaal, page 461:

     ... maar daarna, dunkt mij, zou men het schip in het openbaar moeten verkoopen; dan zullen zij, die het meest gegadigd zijn, er het meeste geld voor geven.

     ... but afterwards, I think, one should have a public sales of the ship; then those who are the most interested will pay the highest amount for it.

   • 1824, John Crawford, De Indische Archipel (translated from English by an anonymous translator), Wed. A. Loosjes, Pz., page 248:
