Etymology

From Hindi गेंदख़ाना (gendxānā) / Urdu گیندخانا (gendxānā, racquet court), from गेंद (gend) / گیند (gend, ball) + ख़ाना (xānā) / خانا (xānā, court). Influenced by gymnastics and gymnasium.
