info-dump (plural info-dumps)

  1. (chiefly computing) A large volume of data supplied at the same time.
    • 1995, Robert W Keidel, Seeing organizational patterns:
      Unfortunately, too many corporate meetings are info-dumps — convened for the sake of information exchange, which is more efficiently handled by phone or fax []
  2. (authorship) A long section in a work of fiction that reveals often tedious expository information through the voice of the narrator.
