[edit]From Proto-Vietic *ɓɛːwʔ, from Proto-Mon-Khmer *ɓiəwʔ (“askew”); cognate with Muong bẻo, Pacoh tarbeau (“deformed, ill-shaped”). Possibly related to vẹo. Compare Zhuang mbeuj.
