Borrowed from Sanskrit मंजिष्ठा (maṃjiṣṭhā, Indian madder) +‎ -in.

munjistin (uncountable)

  1. (organic chemistry) A reddish-orange colouring substance resembling alizarin, found in the root of an East Indian species of madder, Rubia manjith ( <= Rubia munjista).
