English[edit]

Pronunciation[edit]

  • (file)

Noun[edit]

no score

  1. (idiomatic, sports) In a sporting event, a score of zero to zero.

Usage notes[edit]

  • The term is almost always used in a manner that is technically incorrect, because once play in a game has begun, there is a score, and the score is zero to zero until one participant actually succeeds in an attempt to score. Thus, the only time at which there is no score is before the game has actually begun at all.
