onion ring (plural onion rings)

  1. A ring-shaped piece of onion formed from a way of cutting through the natural shell structure of the onion.
  2. A food composed of onions cut into rings, that are then battered and deep-fried.
  3. By extension, any thin/small ring-shaped deep-fried crispy dough with onion contained in it.
