Piedurksne

Alternative forms

Etymology

Originally a variant of a regularly derived piedurtne, from the verb piedurt (to pin, to attach (with a pin)) (ultimately derived from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *h₁epi (at, near)) +‎ -ne. The original meaning was thus “something attached, sewn (on something else).”[1]
