1. (US, medicine, very rare) The outpatient clinic of a hospital.

Usage notes

• Not to be confused with polyclinic.
• Absent from most British dictionaries (including Longman, Collins, and Oxford Online), this term is used (though only rarely) by US medical professionals for the outpatient clinic or outpatient department of a European hospital.
