Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Finnic *raunijo, possibly equivalent to rauna + -io, derived from a borrowing from Proto-Norse [Term?] (compare Old Norse hraun). Related to Ingrian raunio, Karelian raunivo and Votic raunio.
