rhymist (plural rhymists)
- One who rhymes; an inferior poet.
- 1774, Dr Samuel Johnson, Preface to the Works of the English Poets, J. Nichols, volume II, page 139
- His character of Dryden, who sometimes visited him, was, that he was a good rhymist, but no poet.
