     Ġemon hē seleseċġas · ond sincþege,
     hū hine on ġeoguðe · his goldwine
     wenede tō wiste · Wyn eal ġedrēas.

     He remembers hall-men and takings of treasures,
     how his goldfriend accustomed him
     to feast on youth. Mirth has completely perished.
