Etymology

si- (modal) + -∅- (3rd person subject prefix) + -Ø - (thematic)-tį́ (neuter perfective stem of root -TĮ́, “to lie — 1 actor”).

Usage notes

This stem is used for lying individually. For lying in pairs, see shitéézh. For lying in groups of 3 or more subjects, see shijééʼ.

Plural forms of this verb refer to several people lying independently one from another, not forming a group.

This is a neuter verb that uses only the perfective mode.
