Albanian[edit]
Alternative forms[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Variant of gëlep.
Noun[edit]
sklep m (definite sklepi)
- rheum (in the eyes)
Czech[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Inherited from Old Czech sklep, from Proto-Slavic *sъklepъ. Cognate with Polish sklep.
Pronunciation[edit]
Noun[edit]
sklep m inan
- cellar (storage space)
Usage notes[edit]
- Unlike a cellar, a sklep can also be on the ground floor. This is usually the case in blocks of flats of the panelák sort. In such cases these storage closets are grouped together, rather than adjacent to their respective flats (which are mostly on higher floors).
